Community Involvement

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure | September 2018

Brown Automotive Group and William Schuiling sponsored the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Washington D.C. on Saturday September 8, 2018. The race featured pink-clad participants and brought people from across the nation together on Freedom Plaza to raise close to $600,000 for breast cancer research!

About 1 in 8 women in the United States (12.4%) will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. A man's lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000. Deaths for women in the U.S. due to breast cancer are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer. Given that this disease is so prevalent in our country, finding a cure is imperative.

Fundraising through the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure helps support research, care, and community initiatives. Support for breast cancer research provides better detection, prevention and treatment for all types of breast cancers. Fundraising also delivers additional access to innovative clinical trials and low to no-cost screening, diagnosis and treatment.

Through advocacy in the community, Susan G. Komen is able to provide access to affordable yet premium breast cancer treatment and overall breast health services. Brown's Car Stores and William Schuiling are proud to sponsor such a wonderful organization as Susan G. Komen and be part of the efforts to find cure!

At Brown's Arlington Honda, Community Involvement is Just as Important as Car Sales

Of course we welcome and encourage you to shop for new or used vehicles at our Arlington, VA Honda dealership, or to revisit us for parts and service offerings. But you'll quickly learn that our dealership serving Washington D.C., Alexandria and Fairfax, under the guidance of the Brown's Auto group owner, William E. Schuiling, dedicates a great amount of time and resources to giving back to the community. Look through this page to learn about the kinds of events, organizations and great causes we're proud to partner with, then visit today and learn more about how you can get involved.

Having supported and met with several U.S. Presidents, William E. Schuiling understands what public service is all about. Building up an empire of car dealerships, like our Honda store serving Falls Church, McLean and Bethesda, Schuiling learned that forming community partnerships is just as important as offering great deals on new Honda cars and parts and service. Whether it's the holiday season in the wintertime or the dog days of summer, you can bet to see the Brown's Auto group name popping up when it comes to local community happenings around D.C. and Northern Virginia.

Under the direction of Schuiling, our dealership happily participates in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, the Life Skills Mighty Mile and with the Arlington Food Assistance Center, among other great causes and organizations. If you have something happening in the community that needs support from local businesses, stop on by our Honda dealership on the Lee Highway today and we'll see how we can help out.

At Brown's Arlington Honda, we're about so much more than helping drivers from the Alexandria and D.C. areas finding their next cars. We're incredibly happy and feel lucky to be part of this vibrant community, and we're ready to give back to those who need our help. Come on over today and learn more about what we do for the community.
